Preparations to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), have gained momentum across Hyderabad. Streets, markets, and neighborhoods are echoing with chants of "Marhaba Ya Mustafa" as residents engage in enthusiastic arrangements for the sacred occasion.
In Latifabad and other parts of the city, stalls selling green flags, buntings, badges, children's attire, and decorative items have been set up, attracting large crowds. Electronics shops in areas such as Chhotki Gitti are witnessing brisk sales of colorful lights, electric bulbs, and other decorative goods for illumination. Citizens are making purchases according to their taste and financial means, adding a festive glow to homes and neighborhoods.
Alongside these preparations, mosques and community centers continue to host mehfil-e-milad, processions, and rallies. The city's first and oldest central Milad procession, which sets off from Sireghat, is under preparation by Anjuman Fidaiyan Pakistan. A general workers' meeting, chaired by Central President Arif Hussain Noorani, was held to finalise arrangements. Addressing the gathering, Noorani said the 1,500th commemoration of Eid Milad-un-Nabi was a renewal of the pledge of love and loyalty to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). "On this day, we must reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding the honor of the Prophet and the law of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat," he remarked.
The meeting was attended by senior members including Saif Mohammad Sheikh, Mohammad Javed Sheikh, General Secretary Mohammad Asif Sheikh, Asad Sheikh, Junaid Sheikh, and Faizan Noorani, among others.
Meanwhile, the Madani Milad Committee organised a Naat competition on Faujdari Road, aimed at fostering love for the Prophet among children. The event drew participation from Sunni Tehreek leaders, including Sindh General Secretary Khalid Hasan Attari, Divisional President Abid Qadri, District President Rizwan Qadri, and others.
Pakistan Sunni Tehreek also organised flag-hoisting ceremonies at three locations in the American Quarters. The events included cake-cutting and were attended by prominent leaders such as Allama Ghaus Umri, Bashir Shah, Shaukat Bhatti, Mohammad Asif Qadri, and UC chairmen, along with a large number of devotees.
