Brooklyn Beckham is facing harsh criticism online after sharing a video of himself making homemade strawberry jam, with many social media users comparing him to Meghan Markle.
The 26-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham posted the clip on Instagram, showing the step-by-step process of preparing strawberries, cooking them, and spreading the jam on sourdough bread. The video concluded with Beckham handing the toast to a woman, believed to be his wife Nicola Peltz, though the taste test was cut short.
While some followers praised his cooking attempt with comments such as “looks great” and “very nice,” many others mocked his efforts. One user wrote, “First Meghan, now you! What’s the obsession with strawberry jam?” while another called him “The New Meghan Markle.” Markle herself recently launched her own jam brand under her lifestyle venture, As Ever, which has also attracted mixed reviews.
Critics also targeted Beckham’s technique, calling the jam “runny” and telling him to “get a proper job.” Others went further, referencing his rumored family tensions with David and Victoria Beckham, leaving comments such as “Call your parents” and “How is your family?”
Despite the criticism, Beckham’s supporters defended him, calling out what they described as “bitter” and “spiteful” trolling.
The video comes amid ongoing reports of a strained relationship between Brooklyn and his parents. Earlier this year, he and Nicola were absent from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration and are reportedly in limited contact with the Beckham family.
Brooklyn Beckham has not publicly responded to the backlash over his jam video or addressed the renewed family speculation.
