Netflix experiences major outage affecting users

Netflix users report widespread issues as the streaming platform experiences service disruptions.

Netflix experienced a significant service disruption on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2025, affecting thousands of users across the United States.

According to DownDetector, more than 11,000 reports were logged, with issues beginning around 6:15 pm ET.

Users reported problems such as login failures, black screens, and error messages stating, "We're having trouble accessing these titles for you right now. Please try again.

While some users reported partial restoration of service later in the evening, full functionality remained elusive for many.

As of 9:30 pm ET, Netflix had not issued an official statement or provided updates on its social media channels.

The streaming platform, which boasts over 300 million paid subscriptions globally, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

This outage follows a similar incident in May 2025, when over 75,000 complaints were reported across the US due to a widespread service disruption. During that event, users received messages indicating that titles were "not available to watch instantly."

As of now, Netflix has not provided an estimated time for full service restoration. Users experiencing issues are advised to check the Netflix Help Center or their internet service provider for updates.
