Independent record shop Vertigo Vinyl in Macon, Georgia, has revealed that Taylor Swift’s music sales alone cover its annual rent.
The store shared the update on X, stating: “I’m not joking when I say Taylor Swift sales alone pay our yearly rent.”
since all the Swifties are here, last year just Reputation and TTPD alone (2 albums) generated $128,000 in sales for us— all record stores (who do being a record store right lol) are literally sooo thankful! ♥️

hopefully we can stock TLOASG soon!
According to Vertigo Vinyl, just two albums, Reputation and The Tortured Poets Department, brought in $128,000 in sales last year.
The shop added, “All record stores (who do being a record store right lol) are literally sooo thankful.”
The post comes as Swift faces criticism for releasing multiple vinyl variants, with some suggesting the approach inflates sales figures. Supporters argue the practice is widespread in the music industry and that Swift receives disproportionate scrutiny compared to her peers.
Vertigo Vinyl has also expressed enthusiasm for Swift’s upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl, due October 3 after Swift unveiled the “Tiny Bubbles in Champagne” edition on August 25.
The record was produced with Max Martin and Shellback, with cover photography by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
Swift announced her 12th album during her appearance on the New Heights podcast with boyfriend Travis Kelce and has since rolled out several vinyl and CD formats for pre-order.
