Dengue caseload rises to 134 in Pindi

The anti-dengue campaign continues as dengue cases surge in Rawalpindi and Murree with the number of confirmed patients reaching 134. In the past 24 hours, 11 new cases were reported in Rawalpindi and 2 in Murree. Fresh cases emerged from Doltala (Gujar Khan), Dhoke Kashmiriyaan, Dhoke Dalal, Shakrial, Girja, Kalyal and UC Phagwari in Murree.
Confirmed dengue patients now stand at 70 in Rawalpindi and 64 in Murree. The health department stated that 4,780 people were screened in Rawalpindi, of which 70 tested positive, while in Murree, 593 were screened and 64 cases were confirmed. To intensify efforts, the district administration has recruited 150 more sanitary patrol staff and 4 entomologists in Murree.
As per campaign data, 1,245,093 sites were inspected in Rawalpindi, 14,001 found positive and larvae detected at 1,461 places. Over 86,000 households were found to be dengue positive during checks. In Rawalpindi, 2,957 FIRs were registered, 1,251 sites sealed, 3,015 challans issued and fines amounting to Rs6.471 million imposed. In Murree, 68 FIRs were lodged, 205 sites sealed, 938 challans issued and Rs807,000 fines imposed.
The district administration said larvicide spraying was being accelerated.
