Mingus Lucien Reedus, the 25-year-old son of The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus and supermodel Helena Christensen, was arrested in Manhattan on Saturday morning in connection with an alleged assault, according to the New York Police Department.
As reported by The Post, Reedus allegedly struck a woman in the leg, choked her, and slammed her to the ground, resulting in visible redness. While police confirmed the arrest, they stated that formal charges had not yet been filed. Reedus is listed as residing in a luxury apartment in Chelsea.
This incident marks Reedus’ second known run-in with the law. In 2022, he accepted a plea deal related to a 2021 incident during the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy, where he allegedly punched a woman in the face. Originally facing a misdemeanor assault charge, Reedus pleaded guilty to a downgraded charge of disorderly conduct and was sentenced to five private counseling sessions. His attorney, Isabelle Kirschner, described the original allegations as "baseless" and successfully negotiated the charge reduction.
At the time, Reedus claimed he acted in self-defense, alleging that the woman and her group followed him for blocks, pulled his hair, threw water at him, and threatened his friends. He told New York Daily News that he reacted instinctively to protect himself and others.
The NYPD has not released further details on the latest incident, and representatives for Reedus have not responded to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.
Mingus, who has pursued a modeling career like his mother, made his Vogue Hommes Paris cover debut in 2021. His parents, Christensen and Reedus, were together from 1998 until 2003. Mingus is their only child. Norman Reedus also shares a daughter with actress Diane Kruger, born in 2018.
