A man, whose identity card was used in an abduction-murder case, was taken into police custody on Monday.
Sub Inspector Rizwan of the Green Town police station said that the body of Muhammad Akram, 45, a scrap dealer near Mian Chowk, who was kidnapped for ransom on September 15, was found in a drain a few days later.
The kidnappers had demanded Rs1 million as ransom, which was deposited in a bank account by the family of the deceased.
He said that on Monday they had arrested the person whose NIC was used.
The arrested person is a journalist and has claimed that he had lost his NIC two months ago.
