Following the theatrical success of It Ends With Us, fans are now wondering if Colleen Hoover’s next adaptation, Regretting You, will follow with a Netflix release.

The romantic drama, directed by Josh Boone and written by Susan McMartin, is set to hit cinemas soon under Paramount Pictures although a streaming release has not been announced yet.

The film stars Allison Williams as Morgan and McKenna Grace as her daughter Clara. It centres on their strained relationship following the sudden death of Clara’s father, Chris. The adaptation is described by Boone as “a romantic drama, one that has levity and humour,” with a focus on staying true to the source material.

The cast also includes Dave Franco as Jonah and Scott Eastwood. Yesterday Paramount Pictures unveiled the official poster for the film with the trailer set to release today.

Since a streaming release remains uncertain, viewers fear legal controversies tied to Hoover’s previous adaptation may further complicate prospects.

Just four months after its theatrical release, It Ends With Us costars, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were embroiled in a legal battle after Lively accused Baldoni of harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign. Baldoni denied the claims and countersued Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for defamation however, his initial suit was dismissed.

Despite the ongoing controversy, Hoover’s popularity in Hollywood continues to rise, with more adaptations are on the way, including Reminders of Him and Verity.

Regretting You comes out in theatres on October 24, 2025.
