
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah held a meeting with the vice chancellors of 64 universities — 30 public and 34 private sector — to devise programmes to celebrate the upcoming Independence Day under the theme of Ma'arka-e-Haq that depict national pride and dignity.
The chief minister emphasised the importance of organising educational, cultural, sports, and literary events to foster national pride in a meeting on Thursday.
The chief minister highlighted the pride the Pakistan armed forces have brought to the nation through their valiant efforts. He stated, "The government has devised a comprehensive plan to celebrate the nation's victory and the Independence Day." The festivities are set to commence on August 1.
The chief minister urged the universities to organise related programmes and decorate campuses and classrooms in a manner that reflects national dignity. He also announced that the best decorations would win rewards from the government.
He also directed Secretary University & Boards Abbas Baloch and Chairman of HEC Sindh Tariq Rafi to organise separate and inter-university programmes.
It was agreed in the meeting that a tree plantation initiative would be launched across the province to promote environmental sustainability.
