KARACHI:

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) police of District West Karachi raided a factory in Pathan Colony within the limits of Pirabad Police Station on Wednesday. The raid seized a large quantity of banned tobacco chews gutka, mawa, and the machinery used in production of the prohibited substances.

According to SSP Shuaib Memon, the SIU police received confidential information about the factory which led to the raid, during which they recovered over 600 kg of gutka and mawa, moistened betel nuts, tobacco, and machinery used in the production and packaging of gutka and mawa. Suspect Adil was also arrested from the factory. A case was registered against him at the SIU police station.
