Richard Grenell tells Imran Khan’s sons to 'stay strong'

Kasim and Sulaiman Khan, sons of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, recently met with Richard Grenell, a key aide to US President Donald Trump, in California on Wednesday.

In a post on social media platform X, Grenell shared a photo with the Imran Khan sons and wrote, "Great to spend time with Kasim and Sulaiman. Welcome, my friends!"

I loved hanging out with you today.

Sulaiman and @Kasim_Khan_1999, you must stay strong.

He went on to offer words of encouragement, telling Imran Khan’s sons, "Stay strong. Millions around the world are facing political vengeance, and you are not alone in this fight."

Earlier this month, Imran Khan's sister Aleema Khan said Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan will be part of the protest movement.

Aleema spoke to the media after her two sisters Uzma and Noreen Khan and party lawyers met the PTI founder in Adiala Jail. Aleema was, however, denied permission for the meeting. She told the reporters that Imran Khan would himself lead the protest movement from inside the jail.

"Imran Khan has said that he will lead the protest movement. He is free while in jail but we are prisoners despite being outside," she said. "Our family will be fully involved in the protest movement. Sulaiman and Kasim have said that after [visiting] America, they will join the movement," she added.

"Imran Khan has said that those who could not carry the weight of the movement should leave now," she continued, adding that Imran wanted the movement to peak on August 5, when he would complete two years of incarceration.

Last week, Kasim Khan, son of Imran Khan, has said that his father had chosen to remain in a "dark prison cell" rather than live a life of comfort abroad.

In a post shared on X, Kasim reflected on the incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder's political journey and personal sacrifices. "Our father lived in Pakistan — away from us — for most of our lives. Not because he had to, but because he chose to stand up against a corrupt regime," he wrote.
