PAF aircraft shine at UK's Royal Air Tattoo 2025
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) secured two major awards at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious military aviation events held annually in the United Kingdom, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), PAF’s participation stood out among global air forces, as the state-of-the-art JF-17 Thunder Block-III made its debut appearance and clinched the coveted “Spirit of the Meet” trophy. The award is presented to the aircraft that best captures the ethos, spirit, and excitement of the airshow.
In another moment of pride, PAF’s C-130H Hercules, featuring a specially designed livery reflecting this year’s “Eyes in the Skies” theme, was honoured with the “Concours d’Elegance” trophy. The award recognises the most aesthetically presented and best-maintained aircraft at RIAT.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, congratulated the PAF contingent for their achievement. “Keeping the nation’s flag high has always been the hallmark of Pakistan Air Force,” he said. “Winning these prestigious awards is a testament to our professionalism, technical expertise and relentless pursuit of excellence.”
He also lauded the team for “showcasing Pakistan’s true potential with pride and dignity.” PAF’s participation at the Air Chiefs’ Conference during RIAT-2025 also drew widespread praise from international counterparts for its professional standards and aircraft presentation.
This year’s accolades add to PAF’s previous successes at RIAT, with trophies won in 2006, 2016, and 2018, further strengthening its standing as a world-class air force and a symbol of national pride.
