In a bizarre twist, the New York Knicks have been unexpectedly pulled into the intensifying feud between rap stars Nicki Minaj and SZA.

The drama unfolded on X (formerly Twitter), where Minaj unleashed a series of inflammatory tweets targeting SZA and her label, Top Dawg Entertainment.

Amid her fiery posts, Minaj referenced the Knicks in a sarcastic jab:
“Hey it’s Nicki. Minaj? No. The knickerbockers,” she tweeted. “We’d like to know if when you play basketball if your freckles wipe off when you sweat. Otherwise, we’d like to offer you a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play for the NEW YORK KNICKS.”

Fans quickly roasted the Knicks, joking about the team’s playoff failures and suggesting they might actually benefit from Minaj’s presence. Comments like “Knicks have offered their vet minimum” and “She’d be better than anyone on their bench last year” trended as reactions poured in.

This came just days after the Knicks parted ways with head coach Tom Thibodeau following a crushing playoff defeat to the Indiana Pacers.

The rapper’s beef with SZA escalated when she accused Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence “Punch” Henderson of bullying her. SZA brushed off the attacks with a calm reply, blaming “Mercury retrograde” and advising followers not to take the bait.

Minaj fired back with a scathing critique of SZA’s success, appearance, and vocal skills, claiming, “If every song you’ve ever done vanished right now, the music business wouldn’t even miss you.”

Despite the digital onslaught, SZA maintained her composure, writing, “I get bullied online every day then step out on a packed stadium tour where people show me real love.”

As the feud continues, fans—and the Knicks—are left watching from the sidelines.
