MUZAFFARABAD:

Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) government has appointed Dr Muhammad Muqeem ul Islam as new director general of the Kashmir Institute of Management (KIM).

The appointment was made by the AJK Prime Minister following a rigorous, competitive selection process conducted on the recommendation of the KIM board of governors.

The post had remained vacant for 18 months significantly disrupting the training of civil servants and administrative development in the region.

Dr Muqeem holds a PhD in Public Policy & Governance from the National Defence University (NDU), a Fellowship in Public Policy for Economists from the University of Oxford, and an MPhil in Economic Development.

Over the past 25 years, he has served in senior training and leadership roles at premier institutions such as the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) and the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA).
