SBCA officials presented a new survey report, declaring 71 buildings, across various parts of the district, structurally unsafe in addition to the 74 buildings that had already been marked as hazardous in previous surveys.
A follow-up meeting, regarding hazardous buildings in Hyderabad, was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zain-ul-Abideen Memon.
SBCA officials informed meeting participants that residents of the previously declared dangerous buildings had been issued evacuation notices, and police assistance will soon be sought to help vacate these buildings.
Addressing the officials, DC Memon said that protecting citizens' lives was the top priority, and any negligence or leniency in this regard would not be tolerated. He also noted that some individuals have been seen tearing down legal notices posted on buildings, which was a violation of the law, calling for legal action to be taken against such persons. Memon directed the AC's to visit the field themselves, assess the situation, and maintain close coordination with the SBCA. He said the district administration will closely monitor the entire process.
