Woman commits suicide with two kids

SAHIWAL:

A woman committed suicide along with her two children by jumping in front of a train near the Jhal Road railway crossing.

All three victims died on the spot.

The bodies were shifted to the local teaching hospital by Rescue 1122 teams.

However, the deceased remained unidentified till the evening, over eight hours after the incident.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman stood near the railway tracks with her children, and as the train approached, she leapt in front of it, holding the children close. The victims died instantly under the train's impact.

Police and rescue teams arrived at the scene after being informed about the incident and transported the bodies to the hospital for legal procedures.

Initial reports suggest the woman was around 30 years old, while her children were estimated to be between one and three years of age. The motive behind the suicide remains unclear.

The police said they were investigating the case and attempting to ascertain the identities of the deceased.

Announcements have been made in surrounding villages and urban areas, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
