According to an FIR registered by Head Constable Shahbaz Anjum, the accused, Ikhlaq Ahmed, had asked his daughter, Mahak, to delete her TikTok account. Upon her refusal, he allegedly shot her in a fit of rage, citing the incident as a matter of "honour."

Following the shooting, Ikhlaq fled the scene. A police team led by SHO Zahid Zahoor later apprehended him.

Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident and ordered a full investigation to be carried out by SP Saddar Nabeel Khokhar.

Initially, the family attempted to cover up the killing by claiming it was a suicide. However, the post-mortem examination confirmed that Mahak had died of gunshot wounds, establishing it as a case of homicide.

Police collected evidence from the crime scene, and a case has been registered under serious charges. CPO Hamdani stated that crimes against women and children are intolerable. If more suspects are found involved, they will also be brought to justice.
