10 global celebrities who’ve rocked Pakistani brand ‘Rastah’

The luxury streetwear brand Rastah blends traditional South Asian craftsmanship with modern Western designs. Founded in Lahore by cousins Zain Ahmad, Ismail Ahmad, and Adnan Ahmad, the brand celebrates the fusion of cultural heritage with contemporary style. 

Since its inception in 2018, Rastah has redefined South Asian fashion by creating an innovative identity.

Now, the brand is making waves internationally and has been worn by some of the most popular international celebrities! Let’s take a look at some of the most iconic Rastah looks global celebs have worn.

To everyone’s surprise, Indian musician and actor Diljit Dosanjh rocked a pair of archival navy-blue trousers in his latest film, Sardaar Ji 3. Pakistani fans certainly felt the love despite the ongoing tensions between the two countries. Dosanjh’s support for the brand comes after facing significant backlash from his own country, following the global release of the film. Many in India called for a ban on him, particularly due to the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir as the female lead.

In October 2024, the Saltburn star wore the black hoodie from Rastah’s core collection, adorned with the brand’s signature screen-printed logo on the chest. The hoodie was styled seamlessly with light-washed denim jeans and crisp white trainers. Recently, Keoghan sported a sage green hoodie. A custom hoodie for Keoghan’s son, Brando was also made. Rastah shared the adorable snap on their Instagram, “...had to make a custom Rastah piece for the little guy as well.”

Staying true to his Pakistani roots, Riz Ahmed has worn Rastah on multiple occasions. For his interview with Esquire he wore a handwoven pink shirt featuring a stamped flower motif. On another occasion, Ahmed was seen wearing a multi-coloured Rastah jacket on stage. 

In May 2024, following the release of his album Room Under the Stairs, Zayn was seen wearing Rastah’s blockprint hoodie on his Instagram Story. The hoodie features vibrant embroidered patches depicting animals, birds, and mythical creatures on a black base.

Rastah also made its way into the Marvel universe with Ms. Marvel. Iman Vellani wore the brand's ‘Pink Eyes Can’t See’ patch t-shirt in the season finale. Fans and founder Zain were thrilled to see Vellani wearing their design—and the best part? They had no idea until they saw the scene themselves!

Perhaps the biggest mark of international success for Rastah was when global pop icon Justin Bieber jumped on the Rastah bandwagon. He sported a hand-embroidered pink button-up shirt from the brand's ‘Volume 10’ collection. This specific piece was crafted with a sleek, contemporary collar by Ferwa Zahid, a pivotal member of Rastah's creative team. 

Bollywood's fashion icon and renowned director Karan Johar showcased his love for Rastah in a handwoven hoodie from the brand on his Instagram story. The ‘Kalamkaar’ hoodie features an ornate red peacock motif, blending rich cultural elements with modern streetwear aesthetics.

Unforgettable rapper French Montana gave a shout-out to Rastah by sharing an Instagram story featuring the brand’s chic blue denim jacket. In an interview, Ahmad revealed Montana was one of the first celebrities to wear a Rastah piece. 

In January 2024, one of Hollywood's most promising young actors, Timothée Chalamet stepped out in an all-brown ensemble that included Rastah’s ‘Made in Pak’ core collection. The Dune star was papped on the streets of LA and paired the sweatshirt with matching pants and shoes. Chalamet was one of the first A-listers to don Rastah. 

Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor wore Rastah’s ‘Hand-woven Dot Jacket’ for the Mumbai premiere of Animal. The jacket was a stunning representation of how Rastah fuses Eastern and Western influences with purpose. This was not the only occasion Kapoor wore the brand - Rastah made its Bollywood debut on the poster of Jug Jugg Jeeyo where Kapoor was dressed in a blue denim jacket. 

It seems the Kapoor father-son duo are fans of the brand! The two were featured in a photoshoot for Rastah’s Instagram. Harshvardhan wore a handcrafted denim yarn-dyed jacket as his father stood alongside him in a striking yellow ensemble.
