Untrained recruits deployed for Muharram security

Newly recruited youth in the police force from various districts have been sent to perform security duties in Jamshoro for Muharram without receiving any formal training.

According to reports, police department has not made arrangements to provide the mandatory meals to these recruits on duty for the past five days.

The young men are buying food and water from their own pockets or dependent on the charity meals of nazar and nayaz of Muharram majalis.

In a viral video, the recruits expressed their distress, saying, "we have been deployed for Muharram procession security, but we have not received any training yet. Despite being on duty, we are not being provided meals or allowances. We are facing extreme hardship." When approached, the SHO of Jamshoro reportedly said, "if I get anything, I will give you something."

In their message, they have appealed to the IG Sindh, DIG Hyderabad, and other senior authorities to take notice of their condition.

Due to a shortage of police personnel in the Jamshoro district and surrounding areas, the recently recruited, untrained officers have been assigned Muharram security duties. Many of them have been sent from districts such as Naushahro Feroze.
