
An eight-year-old boy lost his life after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in a village in Vehari district.
The victim, Muhammad Arsalan, was mauled by stray dogs in Ahmadabad village. The student was on his way home from a madrassa at around 4pm when the incident took place.
According to reports, Arsalan was walking home with two other children when the stray dogs attacked them. The other two children managed to escape, but Arsalan was mauled by the dogs.
When locals and family members arrived, the child's dismembered body was found among maize and cotton fields.
Local residents collected the remains and informed the local authorities.
The deceased was the youngest among three brothers and a sister. His father, Muhammad Saleem Baloch, is a daily wage labourer.
The residents said complaints about stray dog attacks had been made to the authorities, but no significant action had been taken to address the problem.
They demanded an immediate and effective campaign to eliminate stray dogs from the area to prevent such tragedies in the future.
