Martin Kove is speaking out after an unexpected moment at a fan convention made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The Cobra Kai actor, known for playing the ruthless John Kreese, issued a public apology after biting co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim during a backstage interaction at Washington State Summer Con.

In his statement, the 78-year-old actor said he “deeply regrets” the incident and admitted that what he intended as a playful gesture “went too far.”

“There’s absolutely no excuse for my behavior,” Kove said. “I take full responsibility and I’m committed to making sure this never happens again.”

The incident reportedly took place when Hannah-Kim tapped him on the shoulder to greet him. Kove allegedly grabbed her arm and bit it, leaving a visible bruise. Though a police report was filed, she did not press charges, but asked that the situation be documented.

Kove emphasized that he has always respected Hannah-Kim, describing her as a kind, professional colleague. He also acknowledged that public settings require better boundaries—regardless of personal rapport.

For a star whose most iconic character is known for pushing limits, this real-life moment has reminded many that there’s a clear difference between screen villains and real-world actions.
