Model Kate Upton and MLB pitcher Justin Verlander have welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Bellamy Brooks Verlander, a representative for Upton confirmed to TMZ Sports. The child was born on Thursday, June 19, and Verlander was subsequently placed on paternity leave by the San Francisco Giants the following day.

This marks the couple’s second child together. Their first, a daughter named Genevieve Upton Verlander, was born in November 2018. The pair, who began dating in 2014, got engaged two years later and tied the knot in Tuscany, Italy, in November 2017—shortly after Verlander’s World Series win with the Houston Astros.

Speculation about Upton’s second pregnancy began in January 2025 when she was photographed on a Miami beach wearing loose-fitting clothing and a black sweater, prompting rumors reported by the Daily Mail. The 32-year-old actress previously hinted at motherhood back in 2018 with a social media post reading "#PregnantinMiami."

Although Upton had expressed hesitation about expanding their family in past interviews—citing postpartum recovery and the challenges of new parenthood—she and Verlander have now welcomed a second child. Speaking to Extra in 2019 and again in 2020, Upton admitted that having another baby was not initially on her radar, noting the difficulty of childbirth and the value of getting full nights of sleep again.

The couple has largely kept their family life private, though Genevieve made a rare public appearance to celebrate Verlander’s 2022 World Series victory with the Astros.
