Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman will present the provincial budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the Punjab Assembly on Monday (today), following its approval in a special cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Finance Minister Rehman has said that the upcoming budget will be people-friendly and will reflect the development vision of the chief minister. He emphasized that no new taxes will be introduced, instead, the government will focus on improving the recovery of existing taxes.
According to the minister, effective utilization of provincial assets to increase resources will be a key priority of the government, and successful projects in education, health and social security sectors will continue besides provision of technical and financial assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
