KARACHI:

Pakistan’s young brigade lost to UAE 2-0 in the 2012 Asian Football Confederation Under-16 Championship Qualifiers Group B match, while Afghanistan defeated Yemen 2-1. Pakistan, who have played three matches in the event so far, began the tournament in style by defeating Maldives but stumbled in their second match against Kuwait.

The result now leaves Pakistan struggling at fifth place with three points, ahead of last-placed Maldives, while Kuwait lead the group with seven points. Pakistan must win their last two games against Afghanistan today and against Yemen on September 22 in order to move into the second round.
