Prime Video has released the official trailer for the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, teasing major developments in Belly’s love life, emotional stakes, and a continued soundtrack featuring Taylor Swift. Set to Swift’s songs “Daylight” and “Red,” the trailer shows Belly (Lola Tung) in a committed relationship with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), culminating in an engagement. However, her connection to first love Conrad (Christopher Briney) resurfaces, setting the stage for an emotional conclusion to the show’s central love triangle.
Season 3 picks up at the end of Belly’s junior year of college as she prepares for another summer at Cousins Beach. According to Prime Video’s synopsis, her future with Jeremiah feels certain—until unexpected events pull Conrad back into her life. Now standing on the brink of adulthood, Belly must make a final decision about which brother truly holds her heart.
In the trailer, Belly reflects, “First loves are important. But they’re not as important as lasts… Jeremiah is my future. This is the way it is supposed to be,” signaling the intensity of her emotional journey.
Longtime fans have speculated whether the series will remain faithful to Jenny Han’s book trilogy. In the final novel, We’ll Always Have Summer, Jeremiah and Belly go through a breakup after he cheats. Though they reunite and become engaged, the wedding is called off. Belly then studies abroad and rekindles her relationship with Conrad through letters, eventually marrying him at Cousins Beach in a flash-forward.
Returning cast members include Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, and Jackie Chung. New cast additions this season include Isabella Briggs, Kristen Connolly, Sofia Bryant, Lily Donoghue, Zoé de Grand’Maison, Emma Ishta, and Tanner Zagarino.
Season 3, consisting of 11 episodes, premieres on Prime Video on July 16. Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka return as showrunners and executive producers, alongside Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen of wiip.
