ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has approved several key initiatives, including the regularisation of 22 temporary employees, pending the final decision of an appeal in the Supreme Court. This decision was made in light of directives from the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) and the Islamabad High Court.

The 11th CDA Board meeting was held Tuesday at the CDA Headquarters in Islamabad, presided over by CDA Chairman, Islamabad Chief Commissioner, and Civil Defence DG, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Board members and other senior officials were also in attendance. During the meeting, various agenda items were discussed. The CDA Chairman directed that future employee promotions and regularisations should align with the policies of the Establishment Division, Government of Pakistan.

The CDA Board also decided to actively pursue the transformation of the CDA Model Nursery into a "Gardenia Hub." To this end, the board reviewed the technical aspects and affiliation requirements with Punjab University for establishing a Landscaping and Horticulture Institute under the CDA Environment Wing Nursery.

The CDA will gather further information and fulfil all legal requirements for affiliation with the relevant department of Punjab University, Lahore. This institute aims to offer BS degrees and one-year diploma programmes in horticulture and landscaping.
