Music producer Benny Blanco has opened up about his desire to start a family with partner Selena Gomez, even as the couple keeps wedding plans private. In a recent InStyle interview, Blanco said he’s “dreaming and praying” about becoming a father. “I love kids; I love being an uncle. I want to be a dad, though, God willing,” he shared.
Gomez has previously spoken candidly about her challenges with motherhood. In a Vanity Fair interview, she revealed she is unable to carry children due to medical complications stemming from lupus and bipolar disorder. Pregnancy could pose serious risks to her health and the baby’s. “That was something I had to grieve for a while,” she admitted. Still, Gomez remains determined to become a mother, considering adoption and surrogacy as meaningful alternatives. Her own mother was adopted, a fact she’s called a “blessing” in their family.
Despite medical challenges, the couple is building a future together—starting with their $35 million Spanish-style estate in Beverly Hills, which Blanco has been filling with “creativity and heart.” “I love making a house my own,” he said, emphasizing the importance of comfort and authenticity.
Blanco also reflected on his emotional growth, shaped by his upbringing with a single mother. He credits her with helping him understand women's emotional needs. “A woman will tell you exactly what she needs,” he noted, emphasizing the value of listening and mutual respect. Reflecting on past relationships, he added that learning through trial and error taught him what not to do—and ultimately led him to Gomez.
