Short-form video social media platform TikTok has introduced new tools to personalize content, giving users more control over their “For You Feed” (FYF).
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, these updates are part of TikTok’s ongoing commitment to empower users. The aim is to help people explore their interests more deeply, limit unwanted content, and better understand how the recommendation system works.
The “For You Feed” is a core part of the TikTok experience, connecting users with content, communities, and creators they enjoy.
In Pakistan, this feed has helped a new generation of creators and entrepreneurs grow their audience and advance their careers. From Adeel Chaudhry’s food content to Hamna Zahid’s beauty tips, from Zakia Noor (Dr. Zak)’s aesthetic advice to Momin Saqib’s humor and social commentary, content creators across the country are finding success through the power of the “For You Feed.”
TikTok is also launching a new feature called “Manage Topics,” which allows users to adjust how frequently they see videos related to over 10 popular categories, including creative arts, travel, nature, and sports.
Although content won’t be completely removed, users will now be able to better control its frequency according to their changing interests, and discover creators who focus on topics they care about.
TikTok is introducing these tools to personalize content further, offering users more control over their “For You Feed.”
These updates are part of TikTok’s continuous effort to empower users, enabling them to explore their interests more deeply, limit unwanted content, and better understand how the recommendation system works.
