KARACHI:

A young man was reportedly shot dead by his close friend in Hussainabad on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Haris Abdul Aziz, shot dead by the accused, Dilawar, who turned himself in after the incident.

However, a video statement of the accused was released in which he claims the incident was accidental. Dilawar, in his statement, calls Haris his childhood friend, and claims that Haris had come to his yard where his pistol was kept loaded, when suddenly, the fire went off. The accused apologised to the deceased's family, claiming that he took Haris to the hospital himself, during which the deceased kept talking to him.

Police officials revealed that the license for the weapon recovered from the accused has not yet been provided. Further, initial investigations revealed that the accused's friends tried to mislead the police by giving false statements.
