The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub on June 4 in a disqualification reference filed against him by his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rival.
The ECP will hear the reference against the PTI leader on June 4 at 10 am. The case against Ayub was brought by his rival candidate Babar Nawaz. The PML-N backed candidate in the general elections 2024 sent a reference to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, who forwarded it to the ECP.
Babar Nawaz alleged that Omar Ayub had not disclosed all his assets in the details submitted to the ECP. He requested that Omar Ayub be disqualified under Article 62, 63.
