Over 1,000 kanals of government-owned drainage land across Abbottabad district have reportedly been encroached upon, prompting the district administration to prepare for a major operation against the so-called "Nullah mafia."
Recent investigations reveal that vast stretches of ravines and nullahs have either disappeared or been blocked due to illegal construction, causing urban flooding, environmental damage, and millions of rupees in financial losses each year.
The issue was the focus of a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Sanaullah Khan.
