Kevin Costner is being sued by stuntwoman Devyn LaBella, who claims she was forced into an unscripted rape scene on Horizon 2 without consent or proper safety protocols.

LaBella, stunt double for actress Ella Hunt, claims that the scene—allegedly improvised by Costner—involved a male actor pinning her down and lifting her skirt in a non-closed set environment. According to the lawsuit, Hunt refused to film the scene, after which LaBella was unexpectedly brought in. She alleges this violated SAG-AFTRA protocols requiring 48-hour notice and consent for scenes involving simulated sex.

Costner’s attorney, Marty Singer, strongly denied the claims, stating that LaBella gave verbal approval and even signaled her willingness to proceed. He also shared a text message LaBella allegedly sent, thanking the stunt team for the experience. Singer described the lawsuit as baseless and part of a pattern of "shakedown tactics."

LaBella argues the event left her humiliated and traumatized, forcing her into therapy and impacting her future employment. Her lawsuit claims retaliation, as she was not rehired for Horizon 3 despite prior work with the same team.

The case has reignited discussions about on-set safety, intimacy coordination, and accountability in Hollywood productions. No court date has been set as of now.
