Guard, shopkeeper kill suspected thief

DIJKOT:

A shopkeeper and security guard shot and killed a man who had come to a shop on Railway Road for theft. The police reached the spot and took possession of the body.

Imran Akram, a resident of Chak 225 JB Tehsil Samundari, entered a store through the window to allegedly break the drawers and steal valuables.

Hearing his voice, security guard Qadeer, informed the police and shop owner Adeel Ashraf and Faisal Ashraf, who also reached the spot.

In the meantime, the thief Imran came out of the window inside the shop and tied to escape through the roof when the security guard Qadeer and shop owner Muhammad Faisal Ashraf opened fire one after the other, which hit Imran and he fell on the shutter of the shop and died.

On receiving information, SP Lyallpur Town, DSP Civil Line, Rescue 1122 and PFSA teams reached the spot.

Meanwhile, five people, including three brothers, were injured in a clash over parking a motorcycle in Arshad Market.

The shopkeepers closed the market in protest after the incident and demanded the arrest of the attackers.

The dispute broke out between 34-year-old Afzal, 33-year-old Iqbal and their 37-year-old brother Bilal, residents of Kaleem Shaheed Colony in Jhang Bazaar with Ehsan and others over motorcycle parking.

Ehsan and others opened fire and injured Akram, Nisar Ahmed and the three brothers.
