Carrie Johnson, wife of former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has announced the arrival of their fourth child, a baby girl named Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson.

The newborn was born on Wednesday, May 21, at University College London Hospital (UCLH), and is described as the “final gang member” of the Johnson family. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Carrie Johnson, 37, expressed her joy, calling the baby “tiny and pretty” and revealing that the family is “totally smitten” with their new addition. She shared that Poppy will be affectionately known as "Pops" or "Pop Tart."

The couple’s other children, Wilfred, Romy, and Frank, are also thrilled with the new arrival, with Carrie noting that Romy, in particular, was excited to have a little sister. The family’s children are said to be “utterly delighted” by Poppy's birth.

Carrie thanked the medical staff at UCLH for their care throughout her pregnancies, particularly the maternity team led by Asma and Patrick. She also took a moment to reflect on her joy, writing, “Not sure I’ve slept a minute since you were born as can’t stop looking at how completely lovely you are.”

The Johnsons’ journey as parents began in 2020 with the birth of their first son, Wilfred, followed by Romy in 2021 and Frank in 2023. The couple, who announced their engagement in February 2020, now complete their family with the arrival of their daughter. In a light-hearted postscript, Carrie shared that she was looking forward to a relaxing evening with "cocktails and pizza" while her newborn slept peacefully on her lap.
