TANDLIANWALA:

A drug-addicted man attacked his father with an axe after being denied money to buy narcotics.

In separate incidents, two men were injured in shootings and were shifted to hospitals for medical treatment. Police have launched investigations in all three cases.

Police said the first incident took place in Chak 241 RB, under the jurisdiction of Thikriwala police station, where 23-year-old Usman — reportedly a habitual drug user — asked his father for money to buy drugs.

When his father, 50-year-old Dilbar Khan, refused, Usman became enraged and violently attacked him with an axe, leaving him seriously injured. Dilbar Khan was provided emergency medical aid and later shifted to the hospital for further treatment.

In another incident near the dera (residence) of former MNA Faizullah Kamoka in Main Bazaar, Street No. 5, Noor Pura — under the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station Faisalabad — Abdul Rehman, son of Liaqat, was shot and injured by unidentified assailants.

In a third case reported from Abdullah Garden, also in the Saddar police area, a young man named Asad Zaman — nephew of Mohammad Asif — was seriously injured after being shot at by a group of 11 suspects.
