Graduation ceremony: 272 engineers graduate with a promising future
As many as 272 students were conferred bachelor degrees in the 17th undergraduate convocation ceremony held at the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME), National University of Sciences and Technology (Nust), here on Saturday.
Nust Rector Muhammad Asghar praised the performances of the students and spoke about the significance of engineering education in the socio-economic uplift of the country.
Since its inception, he said, the commission has taken several initiatives towards increasing access to higher education as well as ensuring quality education at all levels.
The students were awarded with degrees in the disciplines of Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Computer Engineering. Haris Ikram won the President’s Gold Medal for his academic performance. The Prime Minister’s Gold Medals for best academic performance in each discipline were awarded to Haris Ikram, Zafar Iqbal, Amna Jamal and Rabbia Asghar. The COAS Gold Medal was awarded to Asad Nisar, a technical cadet.
Rector’s Gold Medals for best project were awarded to Ali Salahuddin, Bilal Anjum Ahmed, Ameer Hamza and Shaheryar Baig.
Asghar told the graduating class and guests that NUST was ranked 250 in the entire world.
College Commandant Maj. General Muhammad Shahid said the college has produced 2,878 undergraduates, 511 postgraduates and 13 PhD scholars in various disciplines of engineering.
On Thursday, the 19th undergraduate convocation ceremony of the Military College of Engineering, a constituent college of NUST, was held on September 15 at MCE campus in Risalpur. A total of 166 civil engineers were awarded bachelor degrees.

"The COAS Gold Medal was awarded to Asad Nisar, a technician cadet." Please note it is "Technical Cadet" not "Technician Cadet". There is huge difference b/w both words/trades. Kindly note and do the necessary amendment.
