Fans are buzzing after 5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford was spotted in Los Angeles alongside Waterparks frontman Awsten Knight, igniting fresh speculation of a musical collaboration.
The two alt-rock stars were seen sharing a relaxed rooftop hangout late Wednesday, dressed in signature edgy streetwear. Clifford, 29, wore an oversized black hoodie over a striped shirt, styled with silver jewelry and a thick beanie adorned with stars. In a quirky touch, he held a pink plush toy while checking his phone. Knight, 32, stood out with icy green hair and red sunglasses atop his head, pairing printed cargo pants with a black jumper.
Joined by a mystery brunette, the duo appeared deep in conversation, at one point inspecting the plush toy together. Their low-key meetup follows months of flirty banter and cryptic posts on social media, including matching heart-hand photos fans believe were taken at the same location.
Clifford, who recently welcomed daughter Lua with wife Crystal, has been teasing new solo material, while Knight continues to promote Waterparks' latest releases. Fans are already calling the rumored collab the "alt-pop banger of the year."
Formed in Sydney in 2011, 5 Seconds of Summer remains one of Australia's biggest music exports. Now based in LA, Clifford and his bandmates have collected multiple ARIA awards and toured globally, including with The Chainsmokers.
Though no official music announcement has been made, social media is ablaze with excitement over the possibility of a Clifford-Knight track.
