K-P announces summer vacation dates for schools
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has announced the summer vacation schedule for both government and private schools across the province.
According to a notification issued by the K-P Department of Education, summer holidays for schools in the summer zone (plains areas) will be observed from June 1 to August 31 for primary schools.
For middle, high, and higher secondary schools, the summer break will begin on June 15 and continue until August 31. The notification further stated that in the winter zone, schools will observe summer holidays from July 1 to July 31.
This schedule applies uniformly to both government and private educational institutions operating in the respective zones of K-P.
A day earlier, the Punjab government had announced that summer vacations in all schools across the province would begin on May 28. According to a statement by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, the decision was made in view of the ongoing severe heatwave.
In addition to the vacation schedule, revised school timings have also been announced to safeguard students from the extreme weather.
