Rod Wave was arrested on May 20, 2025 in Fulton County, Georgia, in connection to an incident from 21 April.

Authorities charged the 26-year-old artist with 13 felony counts, including aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm during a felony, pointing a gun at someone, reckless conduct, and tampering with evidence.

Details surrounding the alleged incident remain limited. Unconfirmed reports suggest it may have involved a woman. Rod Wave was released later the same day after posting surety bonds. His legal team has not issued a public statement.

This marks another addition to Rod Wave’s record of legal encounters. A battery charge filed against him in 2022 was dropped, and a 2024 arrest related to firearms was dismissed. Despite repeated run-ins with the law, he continues to release music and draw large crowds. His most recent known performance was in October 2023 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

Rod Wave’s continued popularity contrasts with his growing list of legal troubles, which have not yet significantly disrupted his music career. However, the outcome of these latest charges could have further implications both personally and professionally.

No trial dates or additional court proceedings have been publicly announced at this time. More information may emerge as the case progresses.
