Any judge can be nominated to CB: Justice Mazhar

ISLAMABAD:

Judges sitting on the Constitutional Bench (CB) for hearing of review appeals against the apex court's decision regarding the reserved seats case observed on Tuesday that there was no bar on the judges' nomination, nor was there any fixed number of the justices on the bench.

An 11-member CB, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, heard the review appeals against the July 12, 2024 decision of the Supreme Court, which allocated the reserved seats in the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies to the PTI.

Earlier this month, a 13-member CB admitted for hearing the review pleas with 11-2 majority decision.
