KARACHI:

Fishermen in Ibrahim Hyderi staged a protest against the ongoing load shedding in the area on Monday. According to spokesperson for the Coastal Media Centre Kamal Shah, the protest was against prolonged and unjust load shedding affecting the area inhabited by the fishing community. The fishermen parked their launches on the jetty, instead of going fishing, and held a protest rally.

The rally, which included a large number of women and children, started from Jamot Housing Society. Protesters complained that despite intense heat, load shedding continues in Ibrahim Hyderi and the nearby fishing villages from 6am to midnight, severely affecting their livelihoods and causing immense difficulties for children, the elderly, and women.
