HYDERABAD:

The government has banned the congregation of people in the premises of Luari Sharif shrine, which has seen bloodshed because of custodianship issues among some groups of people, in Badin district. The Commissioner Hyd Bilal Ahmed Memon on Monday imposed Section 144 in Luari Sharif village and its surrounding five-mile radius for a period of four days from seventh to 11th of Zul-Hajj.

These dates will fall in the second week of June. The shrine has remained closed for around four decades because of the fatal clashes. The commissioner observed that a large number of people are expected to gather on these dates in Luari Sharif.
