ISLAMABAD:

In a landmark development for medical education and training in Pakistan, the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences (PINS), Lahore, has signed a historic memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the renowned Besta Neuro Institute, Milan (Italy).

The agreement marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing neurosurgical expertise through international collaboration. Under the MoU, senior residents from Besta Institute will now participate in clinical rotations at PINS, while senior registrars and faculty members from PINS will be given the opportunity to receive advanced training in Italy.

The host Italian institution will fully facilitate the visiting Pakistani doctors by covering visa, accommodation, and other logistical arrangements, ensuring smooth access to world-class neurosurgical training.

Speaking at the MoU signing ceremony held on Saturday, Executive Director PINS, Professor Asif Bashir, said: "This collaboration will provide our young neurosurgeons with the chance to master the latest surgical techniques and gain invaluable international exposure," he said.
