Trump targets Beyoncé, Springsteen, Oprah in Truth Social outburst, plans for major investigation

President Donald Trump has called for “major investigations” into prominent entertainers including Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Bono, alleging—without evidence—that they were illegally paid to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump reiterated unsubstantiated claims that the artists were compensated under the guise of performance fees to support Harris’s presidential campaign. “Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for endorsements,” he wrote, accusing Harris of using entertainment appearances as a front for illegal campaign contributions. Trump further claimed, “This was a corrupt and unlawful way to capitalize on a broken system.”

Trump’s accusations follow recent criticism he received from Springsteen, who denounced the administration during a concert in Manchester, England. The rocker repeated similar statements at another UK show, prompting Trump to lash out online, calling Springsteen a “dried out prune” and labeling him “not a talented guy.”

Potus also focused on Beyoncé, citing a debunked claim that the singer received $11 million for a brief appearance at a Harris rally in Houston. The rumor, widely circulated by right-wing commentators, was denied by Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, who clarified that Beyoncé did not receive any payment and personally covered her travel and expenses.

Despite stating “according to news reports,” Trump offered no sources or evidence to back his allegations. He framed the endorsements as part of what he described as “an illegal election scam at the highest level.”

Trump did not target Taylor Swift in this round of posts, although he previously criticized her support for Harris by saying she was “no longer hot.”

As of now, neither the Biden-Harris campaign nor the celebrities named have responded to Trump’s latest claims, which remain unverified.
