11-year-old injured in family attack dies

Road crashes and drowning incident claimed four precious lives in different areas of the city on Saturday.

An 11-year-old boy, injured in an armed attack on his family in Hyderabad on May 8, succumbed to his injuries at Liaquat University Hospital on Saturday.

The boy's father, Younis Rajar, who was also injured in the attack, alleged that Ayaz Chandio was behind the assault. Rajar, a social media activist, claimed he had exposed illegal betting dens operating in the Aliabad area, which he believes led to the targeted attack. The police have arrested Chandio.

Meanwhile, in Tando Yousuf area, 30-year-old Sunny Shah was killed when a car hit his bike. An FIR had not been registered until evening. In another incident, 13-year-old Aalian died after being hit by a speeding car while crossing the road on the National Highway. Additionally, an eight-year-old boy, Shivraj Kolhi, was killed when a loader rickshaw overturned on the Airport Road.
