A high-level meeting was held between Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi and Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan to discuss how to enhance Pakistan's exports and strengthen collaboration in the scientific and technological sectors. Federal Secretary for Science and Technology Sajid Baloch along with other senior officials attended the meeting.
Both ministers agreed that close cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Commerce was essential to increase Pakistan's export capacity. It was decided that special focus would be on upgrading laboratory facilities to meet international standards, particularly for the export of surgical instruments and other products.
Magsi emphasised that, in line with the vision of the prime minister, the integration of science and commerce was vital for economic growth while Khan assured of full support from his ministry in that regard.
They agreed that both ministries would initiate joint work on proposals for significantly boosting exports.
