
The nation celebrated the victory over India, on Friday, by taking to the streets and organising events under the banner of 'Thanksgiving Day' across various parts of Sindh. Government departments, educational institutions, political and religious parties, and civilians, organised events to mark the day.
The district administration and Hyderabad Municipal Corporation arranged a ceremony at the Circuit House, with speakers paying tribute to the soldiers and martyrs whose bravery made Pakistan triumph over India. Government officers, citizens, and a large number of school students participated in the ceremony.
On the occasion, MNA Tariq Ali Shah Jamote strongly condemned the Pahalgam incident, saying that Pakistan had consistently offered cooperation for an impartial international investigation; further stating that India's wishful thinking of being militarily superior to Pakistan shattered.
Meanwhile, Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro appreciated Pakistan's diplomatic efforts and recalled how Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari represented the country when he was the foreign minister.
The Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad, Bilal Ahmed Memon, credited the armed forces for their exemplary defense, while DIG Hyderabad Tariq Razaq Dharejo noted that not only did Pakistan overpower India, but the elements spreading despondency in the country were also silenced.
Meanwhile, educational institutions including Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Sindh University (SU) and Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) among others, organised rallies to celebrate the day, while the central event in Sukkur district took place at Lab-e-Mehran walking track where one of the largest national flags was hoisted.
Commissioner Sukkur, Fayaz Hussain Abbassi expressed that the country pays tribute to the martyred and injured civilians, including Mukhtiar Ahmed and Fayaz, who were hit when a drone fell on an agricultural field in Sukkur.
Events were organised in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sukkur and Larkana.
