LAHORE:

In order to expedite the trials of May 9 cases, Anti-Terrorism Courts will conduct hearings four days a week.

According to the new amended schedule, the Anti-Terrorism Courts will hear May 9 cases on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The decision was taken in a meeting held on May 9, 2025, following the Supreme Court's directives of concluding the May 9 cases in four months.

Earlier, the ATCs were conducting these trials three days a week.

Meanwhile, the prosecution failed to furnish the record of cases against PTI founder Imran Khan and other PTI leaders before Anti-Terrorism Courts in last several hearings of May 9 cases.

The prosecution argued that the record was submitted at the apex court.

On Wednesday, the prosecution yet again failed to submit the record of the multiple cases registered against PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The prosecution argued that they were busy in jail trials and were unaware about Qureshi's bail matters. They sought time to produce the record and advance arguments.

Qureshi's counsel Rana Mudasar said the prosecution is using delaying tactics to prolong the trials against his client.
