Mama Gang ringleader, lieutenant behind bars

Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police arrested the main accused of the 'Mama Gang', along with his accomplice, in an alleged police encounter in North Nazimabad. The main accused was arrested in an injured condition, identified as Zahid Hazrat alias Mama, while his accomplice was identified as Muhammad Arshad Aminullah. Zahid was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, on Sunday night, Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police arrested three accused of the gang, including two injured, after an alleged police encounter in Shadman Town. The arrested suspects include 40-year-old Tahir Khan Firdous, and 24-year-old Nadir Ali Qadir Bakhsh, while the third suspect identified himself as Waseem Ghulam Sarwar.
The injured suspects were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medical treatment. As part of the gang, which consists of five accused, the suspects were involved in the robbery of milk shops and bakeries, street crimes, among other various offences. The suspects used a Corolla car to carry out their crimes, with other accomplices providing backup on motorcycles.
The arrested accused confessed to dozens of crimes in Sharifabad, Liaquatabad, Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan, Taimuria, and New Karachi; also confessing to opening firing upon robbery resistance in the limits of Samanabad. One of the suspects, Nadir, also confessed to using a police uniform in some incidents.
CCTV footage of the gang's crimes was obtained, and during arrest, three 9mm pistols, two 30 bore pistols, 21 stolen mobile phones, a stolen motorcycle, and a stolen Corolla car, were recovered from the possession of the accused.
