Woman shot by husband dies

A 25-year-old woman, Saba, succumbed to her injuries sustained from her husband's firing in Sarfaraz Colony. Her mother, Shakeela, remains in critical condition.

Market police have registered a case and arrested the main accused's brother, while raids are ongoing to apprehend the primary suspect, Shabbir Chhachhi Araeen.

On Saturday, Shabbir allegedly broke into his in-laws' house and shot his wife Saba and mother-in-law Shakeela with a silencer-fitted pistol before fleeing with an accomplice.

Saba sustained six bullet wounds, including one to the head and three to the chest, while Shakeela received two shots to the abdomen and chest. Saba's brother stated she had been threatened by Shabbir after filing for divorce due to years of domestic abuse that began after their marriage twelve years prior, when Shabbir was already married.
